Check out our list of the best summer activities going on in Anaheim, CA!

Summer Activities

Catch a Game at Angels Stadium

Nothing screams summer quite like a baseball game at sunset. If you’re in Anaheim this summer, you have the chance to see one of the top teams in the country, the Anaheim Angels, play on their home field. The Angels travel throughout the season, but every month throughout the summer, there are opportunities to see them play at Angels Stadium.

Tickets vary widely in price based on the location within the stadium. The lowest ticket prices start at $9 and go up to $150 for seats behind home plate. If you’re a serious baseball fan, you can also buy season tickets and attend any game all year! You’ll enjoy more than just the game at Angels Stadium, though: There’s delicious ballgame food like hotdogs, garlic fries, and ice cream, as well as plenty of swag you can buy to cheer on your home team!

Spend the Day at Disneyland

One of the most popular attractions in Southern California, Disneyland welcomes thousands and thousands of visitors each year. Summer is the most popular time to visit this renowned attraction, and with good reason. The warm weather means visitors can enjoy rides such as Splash Mountain and Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes.

It may get a bit warm in the middle of the day, but mornings and evenings are very comfortable during the summer. In addition to the rides, visitors can enjoy a meal with one of their favorite Disney characters. Children in particular love this event!

The park is open all day starting around 8 a.m., but make sure to check specific hours for the day you’d like to visit. Ticket costs vary but start out just over $100 and get cheaper the more days you’d like the ticket to be active. For an additional $60, you can visit Disney California Adventure after 1 p.m. with the same ticket!

Do you ever struggle to choose a place for dinner that everyone can agree on? This converted citrus packing plant makes a great place to relax and have dinner in a historic setting with friends and family. The complex features dozens of different restaurants serving cuisine from around the world. Looking for something sweet after dinner? There are plenty of dessert options such as French pastries, pies, cheesecake, ice cream, and more. You’ll even find live music!

The Anaheim Packing District covers multiple buildings, but they’re all relatively close together. There are several different parking lots spread around the complex and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, depending on the season and time of year.

It costs roughly $60 for a 30-minute simulation and $120 for an entire hour in the simulator. Don’t miss the opportunity to see what piloting a plane is really like!

The concert takes place on July 16, 2022, at 8 p.m., but doors will open 60–90 minutes before the show starts. Ticket prices range from $31 all the way to $275 for VIP seating near the stage. You’ll want to get there early to find parking and make sure you have time to get seated. Attendees get the benefit of seeing three star performers at the same show. Don’t miss out!

Train at the FivePoint Amphitheater

Train is one of the longest-performing bands around. Since their start in 1993, Train has been performing around the world. Their nearly 30-year career has endeared them to fans both young and old. If you’re lucky, you might just hear some crowd favorites such as “Drops of Jupiter,” “Hey, Soul Sister,” and “Calling All Angels.”

Green Day’s American Idiot Rock Opera

It’s not every day that a rock band’s album gets turned into a rock opera! The New York Times calls it “invigorating, moving and thrilling! A true rock opera.” This emotional performance aims to capture the zeitgeist of a generation, and its raw emotional power will leave the audience thinking about this performance long after they leave. Due to language and thematic elements, it’s best to leave all children at home for this performance.

The show runs from July 15 to August 14, 2022, at Chance Theater in Anaheim, CA. Tickets cost roughly $40 per seat. The performance runs about 1.5 hours without intermission, leaving plenty of time for dinner or drinks after. You’ve never experienced Green Day like this!
